Free Access to the New York Times Digital Edition

All current Stevens students, faculty, and staff can activate a digital subscription to the New York Times at no cost. Subscribers will have a free, personal account at nytimes.com with access to digital content including videos, podcasts, and interactive media. Print & digital articles from 1851 to the present are also included. 

Please Note:

  • Students will have access through their graduation year 
  • Faculty and staff will have access for four years 
  • Crossword puzzles aren't included 
  • Access is for current students, faculty, and staff only 
  • AFTER REGISTERING: You can access the New York Times directly (without going through the Samuel C. Williams Library by going to nytimes.com or connecting via mobile app.

Create an Account screen. Use your stevens.edu email. Hit continue. Enter a unique new password. Do NOT enter your stevens.edu password.

Confirmation Page! Press Get Started to go to your nytimes.com and set your personal settings

 

AFTER REGISTERING: You can access the New York Times directly (without going through the Samuel C. Williams Library by going to nytimes.com or connecting via mobile app.

Existing subscribers

If you are an existing New York Times subscriber, you can take advantage of a free account through the Library.

Here’s how:

  • Cancel your personal subscription by calling 800-698-4637 BEFORE creating an account.
  • Once the subscription is canceled, visit accessnyt.com, type in our school name, and follow the instructions based on your location.
    • Click ​​​​​​​“Already has an account " and “Log In" (Found below "Create an Account"). Input your email address and the same “Password” created for their previous account. 
    • If you encounter an error message, email edu@nytimes.com
