2018 Open House: Magical Findings

The Samuel C. Williams Library held its sixth annual Open House on September 5, 2018.  Librarians were on hand to answer a number of commonly asked questions, such as whether the Library stocks textbooks, if databases may be accessed from off campus, and how to search for books and articles.

Attendees, numbering almost fifty, were invited to participate in a raffle, visit the Mary Stuart Stevens Room for an Archives & Special Collections-themed scavenger hunt,

put a pin in the world, Asia, or New Jersey maps to mark their home,

and help themselves to free office supplies, donated by publishers and vendors of the academic databases to which the Library subscribes, to aid them in their studies.

The event was Harry Potter-themed to tie into the 20th anniversary of the American publishing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which the Library will also be marking with its second installment of Harry Potter Trivia in October.
