As the year comes to a close, the Library wanted to share our Top 5 Instagram posts from 2018-2019! Thanks to everyone who engaged and shared their experiences of the Library by tagging us, commenting, or locating yourself here.

5. Happy Founders’ Day! February 15, 2019  - 50 Likes

Archives and Special Collections provided us with this picture (and a pic of of Edwin A. Stevens) for Founder’s Day, which is the anniversary of when Stevens Institute of Technology was officially incorporated on February 15, 1870. Notice that the EAS building did not have a spire.

4. Come make a butterfly in the Library!  April 8, 2019 - 51 Likes

The Amnesty International and the Arts Installation Club wanted to send a message about refugees and immigrants by placing an installation in Library. Erika Bulger installed the initial butterflies on the walkway above the Circulation Desk and then students were able to create their own in solidarity.

3. Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla in the Library. August 29, 2019 - 57 Likes

Every year the Library is the robing area for faculty, speakers, and guests of honor for convocation. The Library caught this historic moment of Ravi Bhalla’s first convocation as Mayor of Hoboken with Deans Yehia Massoud, Kelland Thomas, and Gregory Prastacos.

2. Winter Morning. February 13, 2019 - 60 Likes

The few days we did receive snow this year blanketed the campus beautifully, and with blue skies, the Library stood out. Don’t know if those snow markings are human-made though. Hmmmm.

While we may not notice, the facade of the Library is always changing with the interactions of flowers, weather, people, or a combination of all these.
