On behalf of the Library staff, I wish a warm welcome to new and returning students, faculty, and staff to the Samuel C. Williams Library! It was really great seeing the Library buzzing last week with students studying, meeting up, working on the library's new computer workstations, looking through the book stacks, and chatting with librarians. The realities of the pandemic hit us all in different and similar ways but hopefully, now we can come together as a community to learn, discover, and grow together.
More than ever, we want you to know that the Library is where research begins at Stevens with great information sources that give you access to hundreds of thousands of articles, books, ebooks, journals, and more. Take the time to discover and explore the Library: find your favorite places to study, visit the Archives & Special Collections to learn more about Stevens history, take advantage of Interlibrary Loan services, get research help at the Research Services desk, schedule a research appointment, or chat with a librarian on the Library website.
Throughout the fall semester, the Library will continue to follow Stevens health and safety protocols. We thank you in advance for wearing your mask and abiding by the Stevens Health Honor Code.
Here are some important updates for the fall semester:
- New computer workstations
- Study room reservations are available
- Lending laptops are available at the Circulation Services desk
- Masks are required
- Drinks are permitted, but food is not
- Seat and printer reservations are no longer required
Please stay tuned to Stevens announcements about health advisories, masking, social distancing, vaccination requirements, and testing.
Best wishes for a happy, healthy, and successful fall semester!
-Linda Beninghove, Library Director
