Since 2020, the Samuel C. Williams Library has collaborated with the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Stevens Institute of Technology to facilitate a summer book club for students, faculty, and staff. Now in its 4th year, the summer book club continues to create an intentional and casual space for co-learning, critical thinking as a community, and addressing systemic racism. Past books have included: Teaching to Transgress: Education as the Practice of Freedom by bell hooks, Algorithms of Oppression: Education as the Practice of Freedom by Safiya Noble, What the Eyes Don't See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City by Mona Hanna-Attisha, and So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo.
