Research Assistance

Library Instruction

Stevens faculty and teaching assistants are invited to request Library instruction for their classes. Instruction librarians will work with you to plan and deliver instruction relevant to your course and student research assignment.

To submit a request for an instruction session:

Course-Related Library Instruction

  • Undergraduate, Graduate and Doctoral Students

    • Sessions are taught by subject liaison librarians and focus on research strategies, critical thinking concepts, and research and citation resources.

    • Library instruction sessions are typically tied to a research-based course assignment.

    • Course guides are designed to accompany instruction and facilitate research.

  • First-Year Undergraduates

    • All first-year students attend a Library session as part of CAL 103: Writing and Communication Colloquium for an introduction to academic research skills.

Workshops
Instructional workshops are offered throughout the calendar year. Check the Events calendar for a list of upcoming workshops or recordings of past sessions.

Library Orientations

Orientations are presented virtually in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Check the Events calendar for upcoming sessions or the Using the Library Wherever You Are video folder for the most recent semester’s recording.
Orientations and tours of the Library are also provided in conjunction with campus partners prior to the fall and spring semesters. Email Research Services
