In the past two years, efforts to ban books in schools and libraries have ramped up to a considered level, especially focused on literature written by or about people of color and members of the LGBTQ+ community. So this year we are choosing two books from the banned books list that keep growing throughout the U.S. – Out of Darkness by Ashley Hope Pérez and Kindred: A Graphic Novel Adaptation by Octavia Butler.
All Stevens students, staff, and faculty are invited to join the 4th annual summer book club hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the Samuel C. Williams Library taking place on Zoom this July-August.
