USA.gov
"Government information by topic and agency,” for federal, state, and local government data. The best place to start looking for a topic if you're not sure which agency/agencies would be involved, because it will bring back results from all of them! NJ DOT Maritime Resources
The NJ Department of Transportation's Office of Maritime Resources "serves as the primary advisory body and lead agency for support of New Jersey's $50 billion maritime industry which includes ports and terminals, cargo movement, boat manufacturing and sales, ferry operations, government services, marine trades, recreational and commercial boating and maritime environmental resources."
Port Authority of NY and NJ
The organization in charge of the ports of NYC and NJ, and the many transportation routes between them.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): Region 2
The EPA Region 2 serves New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and eight tribal nations.
New Jersey Environmental Digital Library
New Jersey Environmental Digital Library (NJEDL) is an open repository of digital research and educational materials. International Maritime Organization (UN)
The United Nations department responsible for "the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine and atmospheric pollution by ships."
