Good practices to follow when linking to internet content:
When it comes to educational use of videos posted to YouTube, the company notes:
YouTube does not own the content posted to the site and is therefore not in a position to grant you permission to use it. Only the actual owner of the content can grant such permission.
Visit YouTube's Educator Resources page for more information on how to ask permission of the content owner.
However, you may also choose to use YouTube videos in your course simply by hyperlinking in Canvas to the YouTube video and including the full citation, which is an allowable use.
Posting an item to Canvas for educational purposes does not exempt an instructor from copyright regulations. The information presented here provides guidance but should not be considered legal advice.

Please email library@stevens.edu to consult with a librarian for guidance on the use of copyrighted course materials.
