Career Research in the Library

Library resources usually used for academic research - including books, ebooks, newspapers, scholarly articles and more - can also be used to help you as you search for careers and employers.

While the Library cannot directly help you find a job (check with the Career Center for that!), what we can do is show you how to take advantage of the Library's tools while you have access to them as a student (or onsite access as an alum).

Stevens Career Center
The Stevens Career Center supports students in obtaining career outcomes appropriate to their personal goals through career exploration programs, experiential education opportunities, and individualized guidance from Career Center Professional staff members. We engage with our students from their first semester to graduation by providing career planning workshops, corporate site visits, and a variety of on-campus recruiting opportunities throughout the year. We are privileged to aid corporate, government, and non-profit employers in their efforts to recruit top talent for their organizations.
Stevens Cooperative Education
The Stevens Cooperative Education Program for Undergraduate Students is a five-year, competitive program that combines classroom education with practical real-world work experience. A co-op experience allows students to alternate semesters of academic study with semesters of full-time paid professional work in a job related to the student’s academic program of study.

Career Help for Students

New Jersey Career Assistance Navigator (NJCAN)
A project of the State of New Jersey Department of Education and the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, NJCAN provides accurate, comprehensive, current, and relevant occupational, post-secondary school and financial aid information. NJCAN contains the latest national, New Jersey and local labor market data and projections. NJCAN also includes information on job interview preparation and resume and cover letter creation.
