In 2023, New Jersey passed a law establishing early voting. This allows registered voters to vote in person prior to the election.
The early voting period is typically about 8 days, ending on the Sunday just prior to the election. Hours are Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
Since early voting takes place before the day of the primary or general election, polling locations are not always the same polling location where you vote based on your registration, so make sure to check the NJ Division of Elections' list of In-Person Early Voting Poll Locations and find your local polls. You can vote at any early voting location in the county where you are registered.
